Insulated lunch bag

I found the tutorial for this lunch bag here.  I really liked the concept and thought it would be a great gift for my friend Angie's little girl. And I was able to use scraps of fabric I already had, so my only cost were the buttons.  And wow, at $2.00, I really broke the bank!  lol

This is the side view.  It is quite roomy, but I think it needs to be a little thicker the next time around.  I also think I'll add a zippered compartment for utensils and/or smaller items.

And the inside.

This went together very quickly and with very little effort.  I didn't like the handle in the original, so I changed that part.  But that was the only change I made.

I think I will have it monogrammed to give it a little something extra.  I think she'll like it.

Happy Friday!!

Newlook 6473

I made this for my great-neice in Illinois for Christmas.  I will definitely do this one again.  With the exception of the square yoke with overlay, it was very simple to put together.  I used view B on the top with the pants.  Because I had never done a square yoke like this, I opted not to put the button holes in it and save that for my next one.

This is a closer look at the yoke.  It still has some puckering, although not quite as bad as the photo would indicate.  I had to get a little help from the ladies at everythingsewing.net on this yoke.  Someone posted a video on how to do this, and that was a HUGE help.  I am a very visual learner, so seeing it made it much easier to follow.

And the back.  Looks like I missed a few places on those pants with my iron! lol
I really like this one and am looking forward to doing it again.

Happy hump day!

Casserole Carrier - Insulated

I found the tutorial for this carrier here.   It was actually quite easy.  I've never made one before, so it took a little longer than I think it should have.

Here are some other views. This has the dish already inside.  If I make this again, I will shorten the handles a bit.  These are too long I think.

From the side.

And opened up.

I think my MIL will like it.  It is her Christmas gift.  I think I want one for myself too!

Happy Saturday!
