Amy Butler Bag

This is the newest bag I've made for my hair stylist who is also one of my best friends.  She cuts all the kids hair all year long and never charges me.  So I want to do something nice for her for Christmas.

This one was much easier than the first, since I already knew what I was doing. LOL  I did not like the way the piping was finished in the instructions, so I did that differently.  I cut the cording so it butt together, then tucked in inside the bias turning under the end of the top bias.

This is the inside.

The main fabric came from equilter.com, the dot fabric from Hobby Lobby, and the black/white stripe from Colonial Quilts.  I tried the dots for the piping, but the dots wouldn't line up properly even when I tried to cut slightly off bias.  So I opted for the stripe.  I think it turned out cute even if it didn't quite turn out the way I wanted.

UPDATE:  I PUT A FLOWER ON THE FRONT OF THE BAG AT A FRIEND'S SUGGESTION.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Not tired of boxers yet!

Sizes: adult small, boys 12, 10 & 8
I just finished these 4 this morning.  I have neighbors next door with 4 boys!!  Are they brave or what???!!  Anyway, they are big buds with my Robbie.  He is their 5th son, and they are our 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th! :)  Last year I made them UGA boxers, and they have worn them out!  So I decided they should have more.  They all love baseball, so I chose that theme.  I have one more pair to do, and I think I'm going to post a tute on these.  I think others, like me, have had some difficulty with the elastic and placket, so I think since I've finally gotten it right, I should share how I do it.

With these complete, I believe I have only 3 gifts left to do, and I'm working on 2 of those now.  I was hoping to be finished before Thanksgiving, but that's not happening! :(  But barring anymore disasters, and I have had quite a few, I should be finished by Christmas. lol

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Baby Apron or "Bapron"

I found this cute little pattern here. I thought these would be perfect for a Christmas gift for a wee little one on my list.  These are for my BIL's girlfriend's grandson.

These were very easy to make.  I did make one adjustment though.  She suggests turning in the ends of the bias for the piece that goes around the arm section and the piece that goes around the bottom up to the top.  Both of those will be enclosed by more bias, so I left them raw.  If you turn them under, it creates more bulk, and the finish isn't as clean.  Since I used store bought bias, I turned in my ends on the ties, where she leaves them raw and uses fray check.

I think these will be perfect for the little guy!
