T-shirt Pillow

I know, I know!!  It's been way too long since my last post.  I haven't been doing a whole lot of sewing.  I think I was burned out!  But I'm back now, and although I don't have a lot of things in the pipeline right now, I will be doing a few things over the next few months.  Plus Christmas is just around the corner, and I was well on my way this time last year on my gifts.

This is a pillow I made from a T-shirt.  My dd bought it for her boyfriend, but it was way too large for him.  She wanted to keep it, because she liked the shirt.  So she asked me to make a pillow.  I thought about doing the whole shirt in a pillow, but it just looked so plain.

So I asked her if we could border it.  She liked the idea and thought we should try to match the letters.  I made a trip to Joann's and found this blue fabric.  It's hard to see in the photo, but it's a bright blue denim-looking fabric.  I had a hard time with the mitered corners but managed to finally get them right after a few tries.  I also decided at the last minute to round the corners.

I will also be working on some window treatments for his house.  Stayed tuned for those.  He wants manly treatments and since he loves to fish and hunt, dd and I came up with a really great idea using linen burlap and fishing hooks.  Can't wait to show you those.

I also have a new cutting/pressing table coming soon, and I want to show you that too.  So check back for that!

Happy Monday!
Angela
